Why LifeVault exists.
LifeVault was born from years of caregiving, medical stress, and the overwhelming reality of trying to keep important information organized during difficult moments.
My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the late 1990s. As his memory declined, he insisted on returning home to the Philippines, despite my fears about letting him go. During a medical crisis overseas, I flew there and discovered that all of his identification cards and important documents were gone. Trying to piece together critical information during an already stressful situation reinforced how important it is to keep organized copies of IDs, insurance information, medical records, emergency contacts, and other important documents before a crisis happens — especially when aging parents can no longer manage those details themselves.
Years later, while caring for my disabled mother and raising three young boys, I experienced firsthand how scattered caregiving information can become — medications, specialists, insurance details, medical records, home health contacts, paperwork, and endless phone calls.
One of the hardest parts of caring for my mother was managing her medications after she began experiencing brain fog. I constantly found myself trying to understand which prescriptions were still necessary, what each medication was for, and how her treatment changed over time. That experience reinforced how important it is for families to have organized, accessible medication information when caring for aging parents with complex medical needs.
At the same time, my son struggled with emotional regulation and stressful transitions at school. I often wished there had been an easier way to share triggers to avoid, calming strategies, support preferences, and important context with caregivers and teachers before difficult situations escalated.
Those experiences stayed with me for years.
LifeVault was built to help families feel more organized, prepared, and supported during life’s most stressful moments — whether caring for aging parents, raising children, managing medical needs, preparing for emergencies, or simply trying to keep a household running smoothly.
It’s the app I wish I had.
