# LifeVault

> LifeVault is a private, on-device iPhone app that scans your family's documents into organized records and keeps the information for the people, pets, and home you love ready to share when it matters.

LifeVault is a family organizer and document scanner for iOS, made by Pixel Street Media LLC (Houston, Texas), founded by Rachel Burgos. It turns documents into structured, connected records organized around three profile types: people, pets, and households. Scan an ID, insurance card, or prescription and on-device OCR (Apple Vision) reads the fields into a searchable record with the original attached. Records, documents, and contacts link to the profile they belong to. Users can build a medical timeline, get reminders before things expire, and export a whole profile, a Support Guide, or a Pet Care Guide as one PDF. It is private by design: no account, works offline, and AES-256-GCM encrypted backups. App Lock is always on and has no off switch; the app unlocks with Face ID or Touch ID where available, and with the device passcode otherwise. Automatic Backup encrypts every record on the device and saves it to the user's own iCloud; LifeVault operates no servers and cannot read a backup.

- Backup: Automatic Backup runs unattended, encrypts on-device, and stores to the user's own iCloud (iOS). Users can also export a password-protected Backup File they keep themselves, saved to Files, iCloud Drive, an external drive, or anywhere else they control. No LifeVault server is involved in either.
- Recovery: Automatic Backup is separate from the iPhone's own iCloud Backup. Reinstalling LifeVault on an iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive on lets it find available backups and offer to restore, with no full-device restore required. Erase Vault & Reset does not delete backups already stored in iCloud; those are removed from Settings > Backups > Restore Backup.
- Sharing: profile PDFs (choose which sections), a whole-household PDF via Settings > Export Vault as PDF, and Support Guides shared separately because they hold more private care information.
- Timeline is opt-in per record (an "Add to Timeline" checkbox) plus manually added events in a History section.
- Sharing is user-controlled: you choose which sections and records to include in any PDF export.
